Whether you are a permanent resident, a business, 2nd home owner or regular visitor, Casterton is a great place to live, visit and work, but are there things we could do to improve it? A group of village residents have got together, with the support of Casterton Parish Council, to generate a plan for the village through to 2030. The group would also like to find out from the Casterton community what could be improved around the village to “Make Casterton a great place to live, visit and work”.
To do this, the group will:
- Gather the opinions of the village community (residents, 2nd home owners, businesses, the school and local farms etc.) on the things that would improve the village for everyone.
- Use these opinions to create a set of proposed improvements.
- Consult the community on these proposals.
- Build a plan for projects (small and large) based on the outcome of the consultation with the village community.
- Present the plan to Casterton Parish Council for acceptance.
During March and April, a questionnaire will be produced asking for your suggestions for things that could be done to improve the village. To make sure that nothing is overlooked the group would like to hear from you with your initial views and thoughts on things we should focus on. For example, improvements to footpath signage or use of the village hall for more events for the village community.
Please send you initial comments to villageplan@castertonvillage.org
