Casterton Open Gardens event on Saturday 19th July was a great success. We welcomed 156 visitors from places including Cheshire, the North York Moors, Appleby and Southport as well as Casterton, Barbon and Kirkby Lonsdale. The weather was relatively kind in the morning followed by torrential rain later, but our hardy visitors still enjoyed seeing nine of Casterton’s gardens and tea and cake in the Village Hall. The event raising an impressive £800 which will go towards the upkeep of the Village Hall. The plant sale, in aid of Animal Care, raised a futher £230.

Thank you to everyone who opened their gardens, made cake, served tea and coffee and sold garden maps.

Events in the village hall will take a break over the summer months, but will be back in the autumn (details to be announced shortly), including another Highlights event, which will be on 29th November.
