Some were winners and others weren’t quite so lucky at Casterton Village Hall’s race night on Friday but everyone seemed to have fun. The suggestions for horses’ name ranged from Dobbin to My Little Pony and Mr Ed.
Compliments were given to the chefs who made and served a delicious supper. As well as providing much enjoyment and a lovely opportunity to chat with neighbours and friends, the evening raised funds towards the upkeep of the Village Hall.
The next events at the Village Hall are:
Lost Cumbria on Film – a WI Open Meeting (all welcome, not only women!) on Wednesday 1st April starting at 7pm
Behind Enemy Lines (presented with the generous help of Highlights Rural Touring Scheme) on Saturday 25th April
Tickets are £15 (£10 for under 25s). Buy online (plus booking fee) or call Jill on 07979 745128
