After many, many years, Nick Cotton is finally stepping back from his various roles either on SLDC, Cumbria County Council or the National Park. Over the years he has been a feature of our community life in many ways, representing us and never shy to get involved hands on in a one man battle versus Japanese Knotweed amongst other things.

The idea is to gather at the Royal Barn for a couple of hours and get together to raise a glass by way of a feeble gesture to mark his time as our chosen representative, just a relaxed and informal chance to recognise a true Communitaire. Would you please put 6pm, Sunday, 16th April in your diaries. Normally the Royal Barn does not do pizzas on a Sunday, but we may, repeat may be able to arrange this if there is sufficient demand.

There will be many people around the area that have been helped directly or indirectly over the years but may not be on Twitter / Facebook or all the other social media. The hope would be to get this message to as many as possible so if you could message your own contacts with details of this or mention it to anyone you may feel to be without, that would be good of you. Hopefully it will give as many as possible to pop in and wave a glass, however briefly.
