The Domino Drive in the village hall – the first for many years – was a most enjoyable family occasion, with competitors aged from 8 to 80!

The first and second scorers on each round moved tables, so that by the end of the evening everyone had played against everyone else. Fair play was overseen by Karen Leese, who had the idea of putting the event on and did most of the organising.

Overall winner was 11-year old Adam Makinson who beat a couple of seasoned (semi-professional?) players from Sedbergh – a terrific achievement.

The best young player award went to 8-year old Faye Makinson, and both winners received a handsome wooden trophy in the shape of a domino.

We hope to have another Domino Drive later in the year and look forward to seeing Adam and Faye defending their titles.
