Heather, Chris, Pete, Duncan and Pam finessing the decorating of the tree
Posted by the trustees of Casterton Community Trust.
It all started with a question from Pam Daniels. Would the Casterton Community Trust fund a Memory Christmas Tree? Our response was positive and we agreed to help with the cost of the tree, lights and memory stars etc.
As with most things, it usually starts with someone having the idea first and then others are only too happy to help ‘make it happen’: giving freely of their time, resources and skills. That is indeed what happened! Chris Benson suggested “we will need a star, I’ll make one”. Heather and Duncan at the Pheasant said “you can use our pub garden”.
Add to the festive mix the playing of carols by the marvellous Kirkby Lonsdale Brass Band and you really did have a wonderful festive atmosphere and an event full of seasonal love and goodwill.
Our thanks to everyone for their generosity given freely to make the evening such a success.
